Today I am suffering miserably from allergies. After this very long winter all I want to do is go outside, but every time I do my eyes tear,  throat scratches, and I start to sneeze uncontrollably! I decide that I am going to suck it up and sit on my patio for 10 minutes.  I close my eyes and what I hear is a symphony! The music of birds singing, the squirrels crunching in the dry leaves, the branches dancing in the wind, chipmunks squeaking,  a woodpecker pecking, and the babble of the brook next door (photo above).  I hear cars passing by, the banging of hammers at the construction site a few yards down the road, and wind chimes. It is like an orchestra with each section playing its part in perfect harmony.  I can hear the world waking up from winter. I can feel the excitement of the new season.  I can’t get enough of the music. My heart fills with gratitude for the sounds of spring: The sound of hope, the sound of new beginnings, and the sound of life!!

Although I still am feeling the effects of seasonal allergies, my attitude has shifted. I am no longer cranky. I am filled with gratitude for life! It is the most precious gift!

With Love and Gratitude,

Anna

Action:  Today, take 5 to 10 minutes and sit outside. Close your eyes and listen to the sounds of spring?  What do you hear?

I can’t wait to hear back from you!
