How do you view Valentine’s Day? I bet you thought it was just a day to celebrate the love you have for the other people in your life, yes, that is true! BUT, how about a twist this year? What about making Valentine’s Day a reminder to celebrate your OWN HEART, a time to create a beautiful reminder that your heart needs SELF-LOVE, SELF-CARE & SELF-TIME!  And, in order to give true love to others, you must first recognize the love in yourself.

Sometimes the pressure of the media, and the commercialization of Valentine’s Day can make us feel the pressure and get caught up in all the hoop-la. Whether you are a man, women, single, married, have kids, no kids, a parent, co-worker or grandparent. Ask yourself, has gone through your brain? … I hate Valentine’s Day, what am I going to buy? Am I a bad parent or partner if I don’t buy or do something for my family? Is my partner going to remember? They forgot? and, I’m single, no one loves me? … And, all of the other crazy chatter that happens in your brain and the stories we tell ourselves every year on Valentine’s Day!  — Seriously, you know what I am talking about, I bet you can relate!

How about a creating NEW TRADITION this year in 2021 and for many more years to come? I want you to make Valentine’s Day, a day to give yourself the LOVE & GRATITUDE YOU NEED! In doing so, watch how much the chatter goes away in your brain, your ego will subside, and how your energy will truly shift to GIVE & RECEIVE more unconditionally, even to a total stranger! Starting this Valentine’s Day 2021…. Take the pressure off any expectations of how it’s “supposed” to be and bring it back to what matters most… unconditional SELF-LOVE in your own heart! — yes, you can teach the people in your life to do this too!

It all starts with one baby step…. It starts with journaling! Just this one simple step will start your journey into celebrating you. When you create a few minutes a day to write down your thoughts, dreams and even not so good thoughts, you start to hear what your heart is telling you (not what society says). My hope for you is that no matter where you are in your life… You start to see what YOUR HEART DESIRES, allow bad times to be released and good times to be savored with inner peace, self-knowledge and guidance.

Everyone of us needs to show how much we care for each other and, in the process, care for ourselves.”

Ellie Holcomb

“When you make a mistake, respond to yourself in a loving way rather than a self-shaming way.”

Wayne Dyer

“If you don’t love yourself, nobody will. Not only that, you won’t be good
at loving anyone else. Loving starts with the self.”
